THIS WEEK IN CHOIR
Hello Choir Families,
The kids did an amazing job last weekend at the Seal Beach Art Fair. Huge shout out to all of our soloists! You really made us proud, and the Lion’s Club was so impressed with all of you. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported. We have a clip on our website if you want to check that out!
Happy Birthday Kylie!!!! The kids had a great time celebrating our amazing choreographer today.
High School Dress Rehearsal
The high school choir has graciously invited us to watch their dress rehearsal on Wednesday Sept. 18th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. It is free for students to attend, and they will provide their own transportation to and from this event. Because this is a Wednesday, students get out of school at 2:05 p.m. so please keep this in mind when making arrangements. Students who do not go home will not be supervised between 2:05 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., and we will not be walking to the high school together. Please fill out the Google Form if you would like to attend, so we can make sure we have seating for everyone. I will also need 3-4 chaperones to check kids in and keep them quiet and phones off at the event. https://forms.gle/cAeiM2aEUDmc3yHD8
Tickets for the actual show can be purchased at https://www.losalamitoschoir.com/. Students will receive extra credit for attending the performance.
Desserts with the Director Tuesday, Sept. 24th 6 - 7:30 p.m.
This is a chance to get to know the boosters, ask all the questions, and sign up to help at our upcoming events. It’s very informal, and we will keep it light. Bring a dessert or snack to share with your table. Adults-only if possible, but we totally understand if you need to bring the littles.
SIX Mega Mix Rehearsals - Girls Only
Rehearsals this week went great! We have a large group, and they are super excited about it. Next week’s rehearsal will be on Friday only and will not begin until 8:10 p.m.
Costumes
I’ve been talking with the kids in class about costumes, and we will be doing fittings pretty soon. The boosters will be supplying some of the costume pieces, and students will provide the rest. If you find you have extra of anything, please consider sending that in so we make sure everyone has what they need.

Lip Synch Battle
This is our best and certainly most fun fundraiser of the year. The choir department hosts a lip sync battle open to the whole school. Students put acts together and perform them for a live audience and judges. Then we post it online for further judging, and the winner gets $100! Participation is optional for students, but we ask that if they don’t want to be in the show, they purchase a ticket to come support. We will need parents to help with this event and will discuss in more detail at Desserts with the Director on Sept. 24th.
We Need Paper Towel Rolls!
Thank you so much for sending in paper towel rolls. We are almost there. Just need about 5 more. Keep them coming!
Website Registration and Donations
Thank you to those of you who have already registered and donated to choir! If you donate before Sept. 20th, you get a little bit of a discount and if not, you can set up a payment schedule to spread it out. Remember: anything is appreciated, and don’t forget to set up Raise Right. Student grades have been updated for this assignment, so you can double-check on Aeries that everything is finished.
Kylie’s Show!
Our choreographer, Kylie, has a show coming up and would love for the students to come see it! The Rose Center Theater in Westminster, CA is presenting “Encore! A Musical Revue of Broadway’s Best” on September 28th and 29th. This revue brings together performers from the Rose Center Theater to celebrate musical theater and the many musicals that have been performed here. Kylie will be performing numbers from 42nd Street, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sweeney Todd, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and Oklahoma, so you won’t want to miss this fun show! Check out https://rosetheater.booktix.com/dept/RCT/e/Encore for more information on the show and to buy tickets. Hope to see you there!

This Week in Choir
Hello Choir Families,
It was so nice seeing you all at Back to School Night! If you weren’t able to make it it’s OK, you just missed out on seeing my middle school yearbook picture. We have an event coming up that you won’t want to miss. Details are below, and a flyer will be posted on our website and social media.
Seal Beach Art Fair!
The kids drew quite a crowd! Thanks for coming out to support McAuliffe Choir at the Seal Beach Art Fair this past weekend.
Desserts with the Director - Tuesday Sept. 24th 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
This is a chance to get to know the boosters, ask all the questions, and sign up to help at our upcoming events. It’s very informal, and we will keep it light. Bring a dessert or snack to share with your table. Adults only if possible, but we totally understand if you need to bring the littles.
SIX Mega Mix Rehearsals - Girls Only
The girls will be performing a special number at our Broadway show, and we will be having rehearsals during 0 period. This is optional, so if you can’t make 0 period work, it’s not a big deal. It’s open to all girls in choir for the first few rehearsals, and we may have tryouts after that to make sure everyone is keeping up and doing their homework. Again, this is an extra commitment, so it’s not a problem if you don’t have time or can’t get there. Rehearsals will be Tuesday and Friday 7:45 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. next week, and every Friday after that.
Lip Synch Battle
This is our best and certainly most fun fundraiser of the year. The choir department hosts a lip synch battle open to the whole school. Students put acts together and perform them for a live audience and judges. Then we post it online for further judging and the winner gets $100! We will need parents to help with this event and will discuss in more detail at Desserts with the Director on Sept. 24th.
Paper Towel Rolls!
Thank you so much for sending in paper towel rolls. We still need about 20 more so keep them coming!
Choir Donations
Thank you to those of you who have already donated to choir! If you donate before Sept. 20 you get a little bit of a discount and if not, you can set up a payment schedule to spread it out. Remember anything is appreciated and don’t forget to set up Raise Right.
