FROM OUR CHOIR DIRECTOR

Welcome (or welcome back) to the McAuliffe Choir program

As always we have an exciting year planned for the choir. Our goal is to create a loving and welcoming environment where students of all abilities can thrive. We provide learning opportunities through class instruction, guest clinicians, and a variety of performance opportunities. Our focus this year will be “Music For All”; a district wide campaign promoting the many wellness benefits of music. I encourage all of our families to participate in the campaign and discover the lasting joy that music brings to our lives.

I am an extreme believer in the power of music education and consider this a core part of a child’s development. Music is something that is enjoyed by every human being world-wide and the more you are able to participate, the more you enjoy music, and the more you enjoy life. There are also MANY studies linking music to incredible brain development, emotional stability, and health benefits. Although many other activities teach team concepts, confidence, and physical endurance, none can boast the benefits that music education provides. It is the ONLY human activity that links ALL other human activity. I believe it is the key to reaching a student’s full potential.

Music is truly my passion and I love to see my students develop into independent musicians. I am looking forward to another fabulous year for the McAuliffe Choir Program and thank you so much for the continued support.
