Meet Our Choir Director ... Mrs. Shannon Wallace
Shannon Wallace is excited to be starting her 18th year at McAuliffe Middle School. A native of Kansas, she moved to California in 2000 and began teaching choral music in Corona. After six years of commuting from Long Beach, she learned of a Utopia called Los Alamitos and never looked back.
Mrs. Wallace has found her calling as a middle school teacher and takes great pride in guiding her students through this unique time. She is passionate about music education, believing that it is a core subject and central to a child’s development. Since joining the McAuliffe team, the choir has doubled in numbers and has added four choirs to the master schedule.
Mrs. Wallace sings regularly at her church and occasionally on stage in musical theater productions. She can also be heard singing around campus and with the McAuliffe staff band. Mrs. Wallace has two children who attend LAE and McAuliffe, and her husband teaches acting at the Orange County School of the Arts (OSCA). She is eternally grateful to the staff and administration at McAuliffe for their continued support of the program, and to her wonderfully flexible family who deals with her crazy life.
